On September 13, 2016, the Moraga School District Governing Board voted unanimously to ban the use of polystyrene (Styrofoam). Former JM ECO Club members presented health and environmental information and research to the Board at the September meeting and following a presentation to the Board last spring. ECO Club students previously presented information to the JM PTA resulting in a ban of polystyrene products at JM that were once used to serve hot lunch. ECO Club students, advised by JM science teacher Kim Lockett, are to be commended for their advocacy and making a difference for all MSD students. A copy of the approved resolution which bans the use of polystyrene during the school day and for all groups using our facilities can be found Here.
