Standards-Based Report Cards Grades K-5
An important element in improving our children's learning is being clear about what students are expected to learn. The California content standards for public education provide such standards for California students in Kindergarten through grade twelve in the four CORE content areas: English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science and History.
In grades K-5, the Moraga School District reports a student's progress in ELA and Math achievement based on the subject area content standards as identified by the California Department of Education. The purpose of this reporting is to better inform parents of their student's progress in mastering each of the grade level ELA and Math standards. The Moraga School District is committed to providing all students with the best learning and teaching opportunities to master these standards. Teachers will report a student's progress on a trimester basis, and identify what can be done to improve learning. Additionally, the report card will continue to report a student's progress in the other content subject areas.
Please discuss with your child's teacher any concerns you may have regarding progress towards grade level achievement expectations. Those interested can view the standards based report cards for each grade level and review the explanation of terms used on each report card. Please contact your child's school if you have further questions.
