The state release of the Next Generation Conceptual Science Framework took place on July 19, 2012. The framework provides a research-grounded basis for improving science instruction and also includes integration with the California Common Core Standards for English Language Arts.
The Next Generation Science Standards were adopted by the State Board of Education on September 4, 2013.
During the 2013-2014 school year the JM Science Department has worked with a facilitator from the National Sciece Teachers Assosciation (NSTA) to learn more about the Next Generation Science Standards and how these standards will be applied and taught in each grade level.
The district is grateful for the support of the Moraga Education Foundation to provide for part-time Science Instructional Aids at each elementary school.
